Energy Land and Infrastructure (ELI) is seeking motivated Survey Field Technicians to support our upcoming energy-focused project in North Carolina. ELI is a growing regional engineering and survey firm focused on civil infrastructure serving the southeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the country.  Our work spans the Energy, Utilities, Transportation, and Land Development sectors, serving private, state, and local government clients. With headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, and additional offices in Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina, ELI continues to expand its footprint through meaningful, project-driven work.

This position is tied to a long-term project with the potential for ongoing opportunities based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a collaborative, field-based environment. Experience with high-definition 3D survey technologies and integrating them into production workflows is highly valued. General tasks associated with this position include the following:

  • Survey data collection using GNSS, robotics, or conventional methods in accordance with corporate and/or client standards.
  • Assists in the daily field operations of a one-, two- or three-man survey crew.
  • Providing daily reports.
  • Utilizing GNSS equipment.
  • Maintain company equipment as well as the company truck.
  • Working with a team on most projects.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Occasionally working out of town.

Travel will be expected on as needed basis and must be able to work overtime. This position will require the applicant to work in outdoor conditions and must be able to lift and carry survey equipment.

Other Details: 

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., walk for extended periods of time in all types of terrain
  • Must be able work in all types of weather
  • Must be physically able to perform the work outside

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • General knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and field procedures (Preferred but not required)
  • Willingness to learn

Schedule:

  • Full time
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
