Energy Land and Infrastructure (ELI) is a growing regional professional engineering and surveying firm focused on civil infrastructure serving the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions of the country. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects including gas distribution and transmission pipelines.

The position has an opportunity for advancement for aspiring individuals willing to learn the skills and technology required.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the energy and utility industry. General tasks associated with this position include the following:

• Providing technical and design support for the development of projects (conceptual through final design and as-built projects).
• Gas pipeline technical design and drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordination and support in the preparation and submission of required permits to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support development of technical designs or internal process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
• Develop finished designs from sketches and concepts under the direction of an Engineer.
• Attend site visits to meet with the project team and determine project needs.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolving technical issues.
• Collaborate with project team including the project manager, design lead, and CAD designers to ensure company standards and best practices are implemented.
• Perform routine assignments that require judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations.
• Client interaction and support.
• Data entry and database management.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures including reporting all unsafe activities.
• Utilization of and adherence to Quality Assurance & Quality Control requirements.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

*Some in-state and out of state travel required to participate in client meetings and visit project sites.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent (Preferred but not required)
• GIS experience in the Utility sector (Preferred but not required)
• Experience with utilities or in the oil and gas industry (Preferred but not required)
• Experience with federal, state, and local permitting (Preferred but not required)
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability and willingness to learn and accept new responsibilities as experience is gained.
• Ability to communicate ideas and technical information to staff, supervisors, and clients in a professional manner.
