Energy Land and Infrastructure (ELI) is a dynamic and growing regional firm specializing in professional engineering and surveying services. We focus on civil infrastructure projects across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Our company, ELI, serves a diverse client base including private entities as well as state and local governments with expertise in Energy, Civil Infrastructure, Utilities, Transportation, and Land Development. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, ELI also operates offices in Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and across Tennessee.
General tasks associated with this position include the following:
- Supervising the execution of projects that include residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional land development, civil site design, utilities, roadway, grading, and erosion control measures.
- Managing all phases of the project including preparing proposals, schedules, and cost estimating.
- Assigning design and detailing duties while providing technical advice and assistance to project personnel.
- Managing, mentoring, and expanding land development/civil team, as well as conducting annual and semi-annual performance appraisals.
- Interfacing with clients as necessary to ensure that a satisfaction level is maintained.
- Preparing invoices for engineering services rendered as well as processes contractors’ applications for payment.
- Negotiating contract change orders while enforcing contractual obligations.
- Managing projects moving toward completion, consistent with due dates and the projects’ overall timeframes and budget.
- Overseeing departmental budgets to ensure firm goals are met.
- Providing communication, letters and e-mails to appropriate personnel on the status of the project.
- Initiating permitting through appropriate state and local agencies while staying attuned to any permitting needs for the proposed activity.
- Prioritizing efforts to ensure QA/QC in deliverables.
- Marketing the company’s professional services for new business development.
- Additional tasks may be assigned as needed by the demands of the business.
*Some travel required to participate in client meetings and visit project sites
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- AutoCAD Civil 3D: 2+ years
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability and willingness to learn and accept new responsibilities as experience is gained
- Engineer Intern Certificate
- Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain)
